1st Week
SENIOR YEAR say what??? I cannot believe it is finally here. The 1st day was weird... usually I have my outfit prepared days before and have everything ready to go... I literally didn't even have a pencil, so that's how my senior year started. But the 1st day was great. I did the 1st day assembly w/ the rest of the student council & it couldn't have gone better. We were all super nervous that it wasn't going to go well but everyone participated & I can't wait for the rest of the year. After volleyball practice on the 1st day my best bud Erin called me up and asked if I wanted to go swimming out on her ranch w/ her and of course I said yes because... school nights aren't going to get me down!! That was probably the most chill night everrr. It was pitch-black outside & the moon & stars were reflecting off the water so it was super creepy. We probably spent 1/2 of our time there just trying to get ourselves to jump in, but we finally did & went off of her redneck rope swing thing like a billion times then built ourselves a fire & made s'mores & talked. Nights like those are the ones I'm going to miss the most in good ole Snowflake.
Thank goodness school started on a Wednesday so I only had to make it through two days the 1st week, I didn't know how I'd survive a full one. I already had homework assigned & I was already having senioritis bad... on the 2nd freakin day. Hopefully people are sending prayers my way because I haven't even looked @ my homework.... But aside from that, the 2nd day was my 1st day in seminary because I had to set up for the assembly the day before. I felt the Spirit so strongly & I am so excited to study the Book of Mormon this year!! After volleyball on Thursday I went & partied w/ Maddi, Rachel, Alyssa, Lauren & Emily. We just jammed out to HSM & danced in a cul-de-sac, another thing I'm going to miss.
Then came Friday. I had a student council thing all morning which was a lot of fun, it taught me how much me and the other kids need to work together. Then afterwards I had a volleyball meeting because I MADE THE TEAM!! I was so excited to hear the news because I was pretty nervous about this year. After talking w/ Coach Ramage & the other girls, I am so excited for the season. Right after the meeting was the football scrimmage. The student section was so loud and everyone was cheering, it was the coolest thing. & now that all the judgey upperclassman are gone I felt comfortable leading cheers & going crazy, I haven't ever had that much fun @ a football game... & it wasn't even a real game!! Then came the freshman handshake dance it was the CRAZIEST/FUNNEST dance I have ever been to. I was always too chicken to go in the middle where everyone was going crazy & stuff like that, but I decided I wasn't going to live w/ regrets... best decision I ever made hahaha everyone was drenched w/ sweat and I don't think that 1/2 the sweat on me was mine... don't get any ideas w/ that statement, we were all just really close ;-) No one wanted to leave, which was a 1st for any dance I've ever been to.
Saturday I was home alone & had to do a bunch of chores, which included sweeping off all of the rain off of the new house... which was super fun. But at the end of the day me, Erin & Chandler asked Trent, Tanner & Steven out on a date & it was such a good time!! We went & swam @ Erin's pond thing again, made s'mores & watched a movie outside. Steven picked the movie "The Babadook"... literally the worst movie I've ever seen hahahah I felt bad for Trent & Tanner because they leave in a couple of days to go on their missions & that was like the last movie their ever going to watch... oh well, they'll live hahahahah. After the date I had to say bye to Trent, one of my best buds. I never thought I'd say it but I'm going to miss that punk hahaha he's going to be a great missionary & I can't wait to hear about what he's going to do in Paraguay.
Today, Sunday, was the Tucson temple dedication. It was so cool to go & here the talks given... even though I was fighting to stay awake the whole time haha. Then I came home, slept for 6 hours to catch up from the crazy weekend, & now I'm doing this. I cannot wait for the rest of senior year because it's had a pretty amazing beginning already & I hope that this blog helps me remember all of the good times I've had. :-)
